Bill Bowers to speak at Annual Meeting

Bill Bowers, a native of Appling County since a young boy and the author of three Confederate regimental histories, is about to release his third book, Young Men and Fast Cars. Muscle cars were the stuff of dreams - still are!

His fictional novel, Two Rebels from the Altamaha, shows two young soldiers as they move with the Confederate troops. Mr. Bowers based the characters on real people and real events. HIs second book is Memoirs of an Altamaha Outdoorsman and Other Drivel. "This book is a collection of stories, funny events, miscellany and strange things collected a lifetime of hunting, fishing, camping, and boating up and down the complete system of the Altamaha River" writes Mr. Bowers.

The Appling County Heritage Center invites everyone to join us as Mr. Bowers tells about his exciting experiences, giving him material for writing these three fictional books. He will bring several books for purchase. The event is Thursday, January 22, at noon at Sarah's in the City. Please join us to celebrate this Appling Countian!
