River Rat Run Canoe Paddle

Bring the whole family and enjoy a leisurely 12 mile paddle down the mighty Altamaha River from Towns Bluff Landing located in Jeff Davis County to Deens Landing. Named one of the "75 Last Great Places" left in the world by the Nature Conservancy, the river flows past rich bottomland forests, cypress swamps, and tidal marshes. Inhabited by a broad range of animals including rare freshwater mussels, egrets, wild turkeys, white-tailed deer, turtles and more!
 
Crisp early mornings turn into sunny afternoons, making it the perfect time of year for one of our most popular river excursions. Be sure to bring your canoes, kayaks, boats, Jet Ski, life jackets, sunscreen and drinks, and we will provide a hearty lunch at Benton Lee?s Steak House. A limited number of Kayaks will be available on site for last minute rentals. Availability will be on a first come, first serve basis. Only one shuttle service will be provided for participants, so please arrive at Towns Bluff Landing prior to 8am. Meet at Towns Bluff Landing in Jeff Davis County at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at Deens Landing (Approx. 12 miles).
Bring your canoes, kayaks, boats, jet ski, lifejackets, sunscreen, and drinks.
The Board of Tourism will provide lunch for registered ?River Rat Run? participants.
 
Only one shuttle service will be provided for participants so please arrive prior to 8:00am. Shuttle will leave promptly at 8:00 a.m.
Entry: Adults: Pre-registration $20.00, Day of event $25,
Children 10 years and under FREE.
Non-profit group rate of 10 or more is $15 per person (must be noted on application).
